Limnos serves its best food along the Myrina waterfront and in the beach village of Plati, with village kafenions across the fertile interior. Myrina & Romeikos Yialos

Myrina is the best place on Limnos for a meal, with fish tavernas and Greek eateries around its two bays. The fishing harbour on the southern bay lands fresh fish for the quayside tavernas, and the boulevard along Romeikos Yialos on the northern bay lines the sand with cafes and tavernas under the trees. The backstreets of the town hold ouzeris and family kitchens that pour the island's own wine. For an evening meal by the water, Myrina keeps the widest choice on the island.

Plati & Thanos

Plati is the liveliest beach village for eating, 2 km south of Myrina above its long organised beach. Plati spreads tavernas, bars and a supermarket behind the sand, so you can eat well within a short walk of your sunbed. Neighbouring Thanos has a few tavernas and kafenions both on its beach and up in the old village, quieter than Plati but with the same clear-water setting. Moudros & the east

Moudros is the place to eat in the east of Limnos, on its large bay near the airport. Moudros keeps tavernas, bars, cafes and shops along its waterfront, handy if you are touring the ancient sites of Poliochni and Hephaisteia or the eastern beaches. Down the coast, the organised beach of Fanaraki south of Moudros has a taverna and a beach bar, and the sponge-diving village of Nea Koutali serves food by its beach.
