Anafi Beaches: Klissidi, Roukounas & the Naturist Coves
Anafi has beautiful sandy beaches strung along its south coast, from the long beach in front of Klissidi to the naturist sands of Roukounas, and the island is predominantly naturist. The beaches lie east of the port and the village of Klissidi, most reached on foot along the coast, a few only by wading around the rocks. Roukounas, about 300 metres long, is the main naturist beach; the smaller coves of Exo and Mikro Roukounas and a beach below the Zoodochos Pigi monastery add more quiet sand.

Klissidi Beach
In front of the village of Klissidi lies a long, beautiful sandy beach, the island's main beach, backed by trees, shrubs and a few large palms. It has good sand and some waves, and it stays very quiet. A few naturists use it, though free camping and naturism here are now restricted. It is the easiest beach to reach on Anafi, at the end of the road just east of the port of Agios Nikolaos.
Roukounas (main naturist)
Roukounas, also written Exo Roukounas, is the main naturist beach of Anafi, a sandy beach about 300 metres long east of Klissidi. It can be reached from the Chora: after about 1.5 kilometres a sign points down a path to the beach, where you turn right. A fair number of campers use it, and there is now a taverna and a bus from the Chora; on foot it is a 60 to 90 minute walk. From here you can wade through the water to the next cove.
The naturist coves
Between Klissidi and Roukounas lie two smaller beaches used by naturists, the real naturist beaches of the island. The first is about a 10-minute walk from Klissidi, along the path behind the taverna, and it is not very large. Following the coast brings you to a second cove that is harder to reach, needing a partial wade through the water. Behind Roukounas, the beach of Mikro Roukounas is also reached through the water.
Zoodochos Pigi beach
About 9 kilometres from the Chora, below the Zoodochos Pigi monastery, is a small sandy beach used by naturists. More small bays and coves are scattered around the island, which is predominantly naturist. The monastery above it is described in the Anafi sights guide.
Naturism on Anafi
Anafi is predominantly a naturist island. The beaches east of Klissidi, chiefly Roukounas and the two coves before it, are the main naturist sands, and the small beach below the Zoodochos Pigi monastery is also used by naturists.
