Sights of Kasos
The sights of Kasos are its churches and old villages, the ancient acropolis at Poli, the Monastery of Agios Georgios at Hadies, and the Ellinokamara cave nearby. Fry keeps the church of Agios Spyridon and a small archaeological museum, Arvanitochori has a church built into a rock, and the whitewashed monastery in the south lies on the walking route to Helatros beach. The island is small enough to see its sights from the capital in a day or two.

Fry: Agios Spyridon and the museum
Fry, the capital of Kasos, keeps two of the island's sights. The church of Agios Spyridon stands in the port, and a small archaeological museum in the village displays local finds from the island. The old capital and the villages lie a short way inland, and the capital itself is set out in the Kasos island guide.
Poli and the acropolis
Poli stands on the site of the ancient city of Kasos, about 2 kilometres from Fry. The ancient city held an acropolis, and a Byzantine church now stands on the site. Poli keeps some 19th-century mansions, as does the neighbouring village of Panagia.
Arvanitochori and Panagia
Arvanitochori, 3 kilometres from Fry, is considered the most beautiful village on Kasos, with many large old houses and several churches; one of its churches is partly built into a rock. Panagia, nearby, holds six churches and a number of 19th-century mansions.
Monastery of Agios Georgios and the Ellinokamara cave
The Monastery of Agios Georgios lies at Hadies, about 12 kilometres from Fry and roughly a two-and-a-half-hour walk, on the route to Helatros beach. Its church is white and light blue, with a dome and a clock tower. Nearby is the Ellinokamara cave, 30 metres wide and 6 metres high.
