Villas in Agia Pelagia
Agia Pelagia holds a cluster of self-catering villas on the hillsides above the bay, most with private pools and sea views. Villas Anemomilos has an outdoor pool, air conditioning, a full kitchen and a balcony with sea and pool views. Andromeda is a modern three-bedroom, split-level villa with a private pool and panoramic Cretan Sea views. BlueVedere is a detached villa with an outdoor pool 4 km from Agia Pelagia, 400 metres from the nearest beach. Villa Kalia sits in a garden with a covered pool, two kitchens and terrace views of the sea and mountains. Palaiokastro is a group of hillside villas among olive groves, each with a private pool. All lie a short drive from Heraklion airport.
Green Villa, Katalagari
The Green Villa is a stone, self-catering house with a private pool in Katalagari, a quiet wine village 17 km south-east of Heraklion just below Archanes. The three-bedroom villa is about 200 m2, with a fully equipped kitchen, a dining area and a living room with a fireplace and a satellite TV. It has a garden with a barbecue, free wifi and free bikes, and Heraklion airport lies 12 km away. The author stayed here for four days in September 2015 and was welcomed by the owner, Maria.
